Blessing of family...
I'm reminded over the last couple of days of the blessing of family. As a wise person recently told me, we are only given one family while here on earth and only a short length of time to spend with them.
We all have hurts and areas where we have felt wronged by those we love. Though another wise person told me that we need to "Rise Below" meaning to take role of a servant's heart as Christ did when he washed the disciple's feet. I've certainly not perfected this as I dare say no one else has either since we all are sinners saved by grace. So, I am speaking to myself as I write down my thoughts.
As brothers and sisters in the body of Christ, we are bound to make right what we can and then take on the attitude of a servant's heart and not let our own sense of hurt or wrongs manifest itself in hurtful pride which is sin and can lead to bitterness. As believers, that hurtful pride deprives us of our relationship with our family but more importantly due to sin, our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
So, today, I say to all of my family both relational and the body of Christ, I know I have hurt and been hurt, I have sinned and will sin in the future...I LOVE YOU!
May God grant us the ability today to have a servant's heart and "rise below" and say I LOVE YOU to our family! Don't let another moment pass by!

Update on Josiah...
Josiah had his second pediatrician appointment this morning and he is doing fabulous!
His current stats are:
7 lbs 2 oz
19.5 inches long
All this means that in two weeks he has grown 1.5 inches and gained over a pound!
Dr. Stark gave him high marks for his growth and for the fact that while alert he is definitely focusing in on his surroundings.
What a blessing to have a healthy little boy!

Josiah out and about town...
Yesterday, Josiah visited several of the offices where I call on in Modesto. He was a huge hit! They all loved seeing him since many of the offices have been getting regular updates from his Daddy!
Anne Stokman, one of my Certified Diabetes Educators, was extremely excited about seeing him and since she is a car seat safety instructor, had to check out our car seat. She told us that the Chicco car seat and base that we have is one of the best and safest! That made me feel really good!
Of course, we only saw a few offices although each and every one of them thought he was so cute and looked like such a little man.
Several of them made comments about how Carrie doesn't look like she just had a baby. Carrie has recovered so quickly which is a huge blessing!

Rough night...
Carrie and I definitely had it easy for the first couple of weeks and then the last couple of nights have been fairly rough with Josiah having diaper rash really bad so that hampered his sleeping and eating routine. Poor little guy!
Carrie and I have been lathering up his diaper rash with special ointment after cleaning his area and we are praying for a quick healing so he can get back on routine especially with me returning to work next week.
The only humorous moments have come with Jackson and his "concern" over Josiah...basically, wanting to sleep in the chair or bed with Josiah...to make him "feel" better of course...
May you have a blessed day in the Word and in our Lord Jesus Christ!
