Meeting some new friends...

John and Gloria Grimes were so happy to meet Josiah yesterday for the first time.

Spending time with Grandpa...

Grandpa Briggs couldn't wait to spend some quality time with his latest grandson, Josiah.

Surprise visit...

Today, after our first pediatrician visit which went exceptionally well, we made a surprise visit to Great-Grandma Steinmetz and Grandpa Briggs.

First of all, we found out today that Josiah has not lost any of his birth weight but instead has gained 2 oz since leaving the hospital. Also, we love our pediatrician, Dr. Stark. She was wonderful, explaining everything that she was doing as she went along. Additionally, she let us ask all of our questions without rushing us. It was a very relaxed appointment where we felt very comfortable with her caring for our son.

Next, we drove down to Stockton where we surprised Great-Grandma Steinmetz with a visit while she was eating in the Dining Room at O'Connor Woods. She was very amazed that Carrie was walking around and that Josiah was so content in his car seat/stroller.

Then, we drove over to McNair High School where we surprised Grandpa Briggs as he was teaching his Biology class. Grandpa Briggs was very proud to show off his latest grandchild. :)

Cute pet pics...

Bouncing back...

Carrie is bouncing back incredibly well! She went for about a mile walk yesterday! Several of the neighbors were amazed that she had given birth on Sunday and was out for a longer walk so soon!

We praise the Lord for her excellent health and excellent spirits!

Anyone picking up on the hand fetish here?

The whole Briggs gang needed to get outside...can you believe how nice it is outside in November?

Grandma Briggs was so excited about being able to walk her latest grandson! Grandma Briggs has been such a tremendous help getting adjusted to our new routines.

Josiah's first bath...

Lots of practice...

No Daniel, not that kind of practice....

Diaper changing practice that is....Josiah seems to need changing ALL the time...

Target really liked me yesterday! Josiah's internal plumbing is fully operational at this juncture! He is getting changed after waking up and after feeding, so about 24 times a day.

Like I said, lots of practice!

I'm really enjoying the system that Carrie and I seem to have worked out. I wake up and change Josiah and then do the hand off to Carrie to feed him and then receive him back, change him and then settle him down for his next nap. Gives me great bonding time with Josiah considering Carrie got months head start on me! :)

Labor and Delivery...at Supersonic Speed...

Carrie, about 15 mins prior to leaving for the hospital! Doesn't she look awesome!

Proud Papa!

The Briggs family about 10 mins after Josiah's arrival.

Josiah expressing his displeasure on the state of temperature changes and getting full use of his lungs. Just making sure they are working!

Healthy screaming Josiah!

The change from 7 cm dilated to 9 cm dilated happened within ONE hour without the use of medications. Carrie was funny. The doctor came in and mention that the epidural seemed to be working well and Carrie said "I'm NOT on drugs!" The doctor looked confused until I clarified that she meant she wanted to go natural. :)

Way to go Carrie!
