Surprise visit...

Today, after our first pediatrician visit which went exceptionally well, we made a surprise visit to Great-Grandma Steinmetz and Grandpa Briggs.

First of all, we found out today that Josiah has not lost any of his birth weight but instead has gained 2 oz since leaving the hospital. Also, we love our pediatrician, Dr. Stark. She was wonderful, explaining everything that she was doing as she went along. Additionally, she let us ask all of our questions without rushing us. It was a very relaxed appointment where we felt very comfortable with her caring for our son.

Next, we drove down to Stockton where we surprised Great-Grandma Steinmetz with a visit while she was eating in the Dining Room at O'Connor Woods. She was very amazed that Carrie was walking around and that Josiah was so content in his car seat/stroller.

Then, we drove over to McNair High School where we surprised Grandpa Briggs as he was teaching his Biology class. Grandpa Briggs was very proud to show off his latest grandchild. :)

Yeah, labor and birth has come a long way in the last 100 years. My grandmother said she was in the hospital two weeks when my mother was born... and that was just standard.
